Icy Waterfall

Today was sunny, but cold. Our temperature never climbed above freezing. The snow exposed to direct sunlight did a little melting, but mostly it just compacted and turned into a substance more like ice. I took our camera out and explored the little waterfall just below our house.

There were plenty of icicles on the little waterfall.

Inside the overhang formed by the waterfall looking out.

Many icicles had all ready fallen when exposed to direct sunlight.

Water droplet.

Wonderful photos! I miss seeing icecicles. We don't get them here in San Diego.

Lovely Marvin, Truly lovely. Icicles are so beautiful, especially when the sun glints off them. I am beginning to think NW Missouri is never going to get above 10 degrees! It is dangerously cold here right now, and quite frankly I just don't like it! Looking forward to 32 degrees, some melting of the snow and more sunshine.

This is a great site you have here. I have a travel blog myself which I hope to be a top resource for vacation destination information.

I'd like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around between each other.

Please let me know if this is possible.

My goodness Marvin, this does look cold but at the same time is quite beautiful.

Icicles have so many wonderful qualities. They're like the haiku of the art world--beautiful for as long as they last.
It's been "cold" here too, lately. Highs in the mid-40s, "hard" freezes every night. Unfortunately no icicles...

Wonderful photos Marvin. We are going to have to get up and remove the ice from our gutters before we get leaks..but WNY is cold and snowy... Michelle

Beautiful shots! I also like your skywatch photo, which reminds us of warmer weather.
